Back in 2020, Light Sounds Dark lifted the first Crossed Wires off a mysterious cassette found in the archives of an unnamed ‘80s synth hobbyist.
Whether its forward-thinking retroism was genuinely lost to time or fictionalised to make an attention-grabbing PR push, the response prompted another dive into the archives. Crossed Wires II ticks all the same alluring boxes as its predecessor, flitting between mutant disco, new wave, proto-techno and outward experimentalism - and this is more than enough to incite moreish curiosity from the listener, even without the added intrigue over the identity of the mysterious creator (or indeed creators).
